Description |
Rectangular, full-length oil-on-canvas painting of two pages carrying cushions by José Villegas y Cordero (1848-1922), ca. 1882. The subjects are standing facing the proper left, each wearing a gold shirt and pants with one red and one white leg. The page on the proper right side of the painting carries a large velvet cushion under his proper right arm. The page on the proper left side of the painting holds a small white cushion with both hands in front of his chest. This was a study for the painting "The Triumph of the Dogaressa" (M.1938.009).
