                                Full-length bronze statuette, The Concord Minute Man of 1775, cast after the original by Daniel Chester French (1850-1931), 20th century. The minute man wears civilian clothes, holding a musket in his proper right hand and resting his proper left hand on a plow. The front edge of the rectangular base bears the title, "THE CONCORD MINUTE MAN OF 1775." The proper left edge of the base has the sculptor's signature, "D.C. FRENCH Sc." The back edge of the base bears the foundry mark, "CAST FROM ORIGINAL PLASTER MODEL II II II FOUNDRY." |
